Samaritan's Carriage is run by a team of seven board members and one executive director, but we are mostly fueled by energetic volunteers.

I love working with Samaritan's Carriage, meeting guests from each of the eleven homes and collaborating with all of the volunteers and the Life Enrichment Coordinators from the homes.
The best part is listening. Once a question is asked our guests begin to share and the words just tumble out. We hear about their lives and the adventures they went on as children. It is alway enlightening to hear their life experiences.
As an expression of God's love, we tailor experiences and personal encounters that affirm, bless and bring JOY into the lives of persons having limited mobility.
Gary Ruiter founded Samaritan's Carriage in 2002 along with his wife, sons, and a dear friend. He was seeking a way to follow God's command to go and do likewise.
